Lisa Cyrier
Lisa grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University. She spent her teenage and post-college work in the fashion retail industry with six years at Banana Republic as a district visual coordinator. A few years later, Lisa came to Athens, Georgia in February 2004 with her husband, Greg and three year old daughter, Erin, while eight months pregnant with her second child. She relocated from Dallas, TX when they started a new business as Chili’s franchisees and have grown that to over 20 restaurants.
As a stay-at-home mom with two small children and an abundance of changes on the horizon, exercise was not the focus of Lisa’s day-to-day. However, with a family history of heart disease, she knew that she needed to get a handle on her health and be an example for her kids. Lisa firmly believes that what you learn about food as a child you will take with you as an adult (she grew up believing dessert was a food group!)
Lisa had made several attempts to lose her baby weight over the past few years – even had a personal trainer – but it wasn’t until she enrolled in WoW! Boot Camp in October, 2007 that she had found what she was looking for. Just three short months after enrolling, she found herself in love with health & fitness as well as helping other women. She acquired her personal training certification through the World Instructor Training School and continues to educate herself in nutrition and physical fitness.
Her fellow Boot Campers and other instructors inspire her daily to go outside her comfort zone and try new challenges. You’ll even find her at a WoW! Boot Camp class still being challenged by an awesome workout! Lisa also has competed in several 5K’s and plans to next challenge herself with a 10K and a eventually a ½ marathon in the future.
